Who are Britafogo?

A group established in Rio de Janeiro by Britons living and working there in late 2003 as well as British tourists to the city. The group developed through a passion for Botafogo FR and watching its exciting, but precarious, emergence from the No-Man's Land of Brazil's second division at the end of 2003 - in time for Botafogo's Centenary in 2004.

Aims

To share this passion for Brazilian football and to channel it into the following:

1. To support the continued renewal of Botafogo FR, one of the world's 12 greatest clubs in the 20th Century.

2. To support Brazilian social projects through fund raising activities both in Brazil and internationally.

Inclusion

Britafogo is open to all - regardless of nationality and club allegiance - the "Brit" part simply reflects the origins of the group. Britafogo hopes that supporters of different clubs will also participate in assisting the social projects that we intend to support in Brazil.
