Did you check this?<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Page speed<\/strong><br \/>\nNo one likes to wait.\u00a0 People drift away if the page is slow to load and rarely\u00a0return to a slow site if they can help it.\u00a0 There are many tools you can use to evaluate page speed and make improvements to a site \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/speed\/pagespeed\/insights\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google Developers Page Speed Test<\/a>\u00a0is one we at QD Design use frequently.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-71\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/speedo-1024x517.png\" alt=\"speedo\" width=\"604\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/speedo-1024x517.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/speedo-300x152.png 300w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/speedo-768x388.png 768w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/speedo.png 1251w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>5) Dead or broken links<\/strong><br \/>\nNothing says \u201cunloved\u201d website more than a broken or dead link. \u00a0It is a real turn off for visitors. \u00a0Either check your links by hand or use an on line link checker such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brokenlinkcheck.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Broken Link Check<\/a> to see if there are any that need updating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6) Testimonials<\/strong><br \/>\nGenuine testimonials from real clients can count hugely to converting visitors into customers. \u00a0If appropriate, include a video from them talking about your product or service. \u00a0This is just about the most powerful advocacy you can get for your business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7) User interface \/ user experience<\/strong><br \/>\nA website has to meet the needs of the visitor \/ customer and not pander to the whims and desires of the site owner and designer.\u00a0 A site that is easy to read, easy to navigate and free from irritating distractions will convert many\u00a0more visitors.\u00a0\u00a0For additional\u00a0advice on UI \/ UX, check out this great info\u00a0from the guys at <a href=\"https:\/\/uxmyths.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">UX Myths<br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>8)\u00a0Language appropriate for your audience<\/strong><br \/>\nWrite in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>their<\/strong><\/span> language; avoid jargon, slang and any colloquial phrases that people may not understand. \u00a0Always bear in mind that your\u00a0website is a tool for the\u00a0visitors and not a vehicle for you to show off.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-69\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/dictionary-1024x397.png\" alt=\"dictionary\" width=\"604\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/dictionary-1024x397.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/dictionary-300x116.png 300w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/dictionary-768x298.png 768w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/dictionary.png 1260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>9)\u00a0Answer visitors questions<\/strong><br \/>\nIn other words, try to predict what questions brought them to your site and what information will satisfy them.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t know, then you may have missed something vital to help convert visitors to loyal customers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10) About us<\/strong><br \/>\nFew people want to do business with someone \/ something they don\u2019t know. \u00a0Ensure your site has an &#8216;About Us&#8217; section that says who you are and what makes you tick. Present your human face to your visitors (you are human aren\u2019t you)!<\/p>\n<p><strong>11) Pricing<\/strong><br \/>\nSimilar to the &#8216;About Us&#8217; point above, visitors rarely\u00a0feel comfortable\u00a0doing business with a firm where the prices are hidden or unclear.\u00a0 If you can, show your pricing structure openly so it saves any embarrassing moments when the customer realises they cannot afford you \/ your services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12) Live chat<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen you are providing a service and customers need to interact directly with you, a chat tool is often preferred to e mail as a means to get \/ give information quickly.\u00a0 If you have the staff and can run a live chat to engage with customers, you should see a significant increase in customer enquiries made through your website.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-67\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/chat-1024x512.png\" alt=\"chat\" width=\"566\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/chat-1024x512.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/chat-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/chat-768x384.png 768w, https:\/\/www.qd-design.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/chat.png 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 566px) 100vw, 566px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>13) Simple, short forms<\/strong><br \/>\nShould you want to create an e mail list then all you really need \u00a0from the visitor is their name and email address.\u00a0 Asking for other data, e.g. street address, phone number, date of birth \u2013 I know it is only so you can wish them Happy Birthday on their big day \u2013 massively\u00a0puts people off from signing up as they may have genuine concerns over how that data may be used, shared or stored.<\/p>\n<p><strong>14) Finally, no snarky exit &#8216;pop ups&#8217;<\/strong><br \/>\nYou know the sort of thing, emblazoned across the screen as you go to leave a site is a huge banner saying, \u00a0\u201c<em>No thanks, I really don\u2019t want 20 amazing ways to make my life awesome<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 When pop ups try to make you feel bad about not clicking a sign up or try to make you feel dumb that you could be missing out on something, they have overstepped the line.\u00a0 There is a reason why the visitor hasn\u2019t click your button and trying to force them into doing it now probably isn\u2019t going to work.\u00a0 They will just leave and in most probability, do their best never to come back.<\/p>\n<p>What would you add to the list to get more people to visit your website?
